Trump Furious Over DOJ’s Unfair System

Congressman Greg Steube has raised concerns about what he perceives as unequal treatment by the Department of Justice towards former President Donald Trump in comparison to President Joe Biden. Steube, a Florida Republican and a member of the House Judiciary Committee’s special subcommittee investigating government overreach, criticized federal prosecutors for initiating legal action against Trump for possessing classified documents while seemingly overlooking similar actions by Biden.

Steube expressed his astonishment at the situation and described it as a clear indication of the federal government, particularly the DOJ and the FBI, being politically weaponized. He emphasized that while there is tangible evidence implicating Biden in similar offenses, the focus remains disproportionately on Trump.

Highlighting the current scenario within the Biden-led DOJ, Steube’s remarks were made against the backdrop of a recent Wall Street Journal report. According to anonymous sources cited in the report, the DOJ is not planning to press charges against Biden in relation to his classified documents case.

The documents associated with Biden were discovered at his residence in Greenville, Delaware, and at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C. These papers, dating back to his tenure as vice president under former President Barack Obama, have been under scrutiny by special counsel Robert K. Hur since their discovery in late 2022 and early 2023.

Concurrently, Trump is preparing for a trial set for May 20 regarding his case, which involves classified documents stored at his Mar-a-Lago estate in South Florida. Trump’s legal team recently attempted, unsuccessfully, to delay the trial. They argued that the scheduled date might clash with Trump’s other ongoing legal issues, a motion that was dismissed by a federal judge last week.
