Former U.N. Ambassador and former Governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley, is poised to undertake a substantial commitment aimed at protecting parental rights related to education, healthcare, and moral values, as per a report from the Daily Caller.
Haley, who is currently a contender in the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race, alongside former President Donald Trump, will be making this commitment during an event in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she will be joined by Tiffany Justice, the co-founder of Moms for Liberty.
The focal point of this event will be Haley’s endorsement of Moms for Liberty’s “Parent Pledge,” an action that places her alongside select 2024 GOP presidential hopefuls who have taken a similar stand. These individuals include entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, conservative radio personality Larry Elder, and Michigan businessman Perry Johnson, as indicated on the Moms for Liberty website.
As the only woman in the GOP presidential race, Haley, who is a mother of two, has expressed her determination to prioritize parental empowerment in matters of education and healthcare. She emphasized this commitment in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF), stating, “From the federal government to local school boards, parents have been told they don’t matter. That’s going to end under my administration. I’m proud to be a mom for liberty, and I’m proud to sign Moms For Liberty’s Parent Pledge because the most important thing we can do for our children is to empower parents.”
The significance of this event is underscored by ongoing legal actions in the New Hampshire school system, where a mother is suing the school board for concealing information about children’s classroom behavior regarding sex and gender from parents. The Manchester school district has asserted that it is not obligated to inform parents about their child’s engagement with transgender ideology.
Tiffany Justice, co-founder of Moms for Liberty, expressed her excitement about the event and the need for parents to understand the stance of presidential candidates on issues related to government involvement in education and parental rights. Justice stated, “It is vital for parents to know where all the presidential candidates stand on issues like the weaponization of the federal government against parents and public school overreach at the expense of parental control. Donald Trump leads with 37% support, while Haley and DeSantis each garner 10% support, as per the survey results. This signals that parental rights and related issues are indeed at the forefront of the political discourse in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election.
