Rep. James Comer asserted with complete certainty that President Joe Biden received at least $40,000 from a Chinese entity in the latter part of 2017.
The Republican representative from Kentucky, who leads the House Oversight Committee, disclosed that his committee’s probe into the matter uncovered evidence suggesting the Biden family may have engaged in influence peddling. Comer indicated that the discovery was challenging due to the complexity of the financial trails, likening it to money laundering.
“The investigation led us to this particular transaction, and despite the complexity of tracing it, we’re confident that the funds Joe Biden received, amounting to $40,000, originated from China,” Comer stated.
Comer highlighted a specific incident involving Hunter Biden, who allegedly sent a coercive text message to a Chinese national, mentioning his father as being present and pressing for payment.
This latest finding, according to Comer, strengthens the committee’s position to seek and enforce subpoenas in court as part of their ongoing investigation. It also raises questions about the nature of previous transactions that were characterized as “loan repayments.”
Comer outlined additional financial transfers that the committee is scrutinizing: “Just in the past month, we’ve uncovered a wire transfer of $250,000 from China directed to Joe Biden’s residence and a $200,000 check made out to Joe Biden, both previously described as loan repayments,” he explained.
